The Samokov is situated in the tiny village of Borovets and just a minutes walk from the Gondola taking you high into the flower-filled Alpine meadows and mountains. The hotel has outstanding facilities which include a full size heated indoor pool (free to all residents), several restaurants, bars and cafes, a bowling alley, billiard rooms, saunas, tangentor, pearl bath with herbs, massage parlor, medical staff who provide complete health checks.

Bansko

This old town lies just north of the Pirin mountain range in southern Bulgaria - not far from the borders with Greece. To the north lie the Rila mountains. Bansko is a small mountain town with many buildings dating back to the middle ages. The centre of the town has been closed to traffic creating a very pleasant atmosphere with numerous small shops, cafes (mechana) and other buildings. It is a little known resort internationally which as a result has retained a lot of its old atmosphere. Several excellent hotels are available ranging from the four star Pirin Hotel to many small guest houses and privately owned hotels such as the Haji Georgi.

We use these hotels as a base for trekking in the summer and skiing in the winter.
